We warmly invite you to an enlightening and heartwarming evening at Cempaka Restaurant on 5th July at 6:30pm, where we will be hosting a full buffet dinner with drinks included. This special event aims to highlight the powerful impact of organ donation on saving and transforming lives.

Speakers:

  • Azeem Ahmad: Hailed as “The UK’s most generous man,” Azeem Ahmad has made remarkable contributions to saving lives by donating stem cells, blood, and even his spare kidney to strangers in need. His selfless acts have inspired many and shed light on the importance of organ donation.

  • Dr. Zul Mirza: As a Consultant in Emergency Medicine at Chelsea & Westminster NHS Foundation Trust, Dr. Zul Mirza brings extensive medical expertise and firsthand experience on the critical role of organ donation in emergency medicine and beyond.

  • Farhat Khanim: Farhat Khanim is a translational cancer biologist using drug repurposing to identify novel, low toxicity and affordable therapies for rare diseases and diseases of unmet need. Her major research areas are haematological cancers of the elderly, urological cancers and paediatric cancer in low-middle income countries (LMICs) in Africa. Farhat’s research encompasses the full spectrum of translational research from in vitro drug screening, preclinical mechanism of action studies using a range of molecular, cellular and biochemical approaches, through to clinical trials in the UK and Africa. Farhat is also Director for Research for the School of Biomedical Sciences. As a full-time academic, Farhat teaches and supervises undergraduate and postgraduate students including clinical and non-clinical Masters and PhD students.
